This is a tiny bar in Chinatown, with a makeshift look about it, especially once you face the actual bar. It is located in a shophouse with red brick walls. The atmosphere is intimate, cozy and homely. There are a few smaller tables as well as a big one to mingle and somewhat hidden behind the bar is a second, accessible through a narrow stairway that is more like a diner and somewhat lacks the charm of the front part of the bar. The rather weird name is somehow derived from the Game of Thrones.
The bar is specialized on beers, produced by local microbreweries and the beers rotate on a weekly basis. The list of available beers is put on a chalkboard above the bar and you can try each one in a small shot glass before actually making a final decision. We did that try the beers first and in the end drank a big glass of all of the ones available anyways.
At one point of the evening some changes where made to the chalkboard and it turned out that a new beer arrived, delivered by the brewer himself. The new beer and the brewer turned out to be delightful and cheered up the already wonderful night even more.
The food offered here is limited and is typical bar-fare: burgers, pork knuckle and some such. We will be back to try some of those and then update this blog!
Other than that we have to say that a visit at Let the boy die is in order for everyone who likes beer, especially something with more taste and substance then what you get from the big companies like Singha or Chang, and wants to support some local independent breweries!
