The first impression when you see it is already positive. It is a modern annex to an already established house, with a front of glass walls and a small and green garden in front of it. There are some tables outside while the bright inside is homely and friendly with a brick wall and wooden furniture. The menu is relatively small and offers breakfast from 8am until 12pm while desserts are served all day. Breakfast options include Scrambled Eggs, an American Breakfast plate or an Omelette, though we chose the Eggs Benedict and a Ham and Cheese Sandwich.
The Sandwich reached us first and the first impression wasn’t that great because the thing looked rather plain. However, the taste is everything but – with delicious bread, tasty ham and big chunks of tomatoes which make the whole sandwich juicy.
With the Eggs Benedict the eggs also rest on thick tomatoes pieces which add very nicely to the taste of the dish. The hollandaise sauce isn’t very dominant but that’s alright and there is nice crispy bacon on the side and overall it was one of the best Eggs Benedict we had in a while.
Then we tried a french toast, that is served with crumble, fruits and a passionfruit sauce. The toast itself is slightly crispy on the outside but tender and soft inside and the mix with roasted crumble, nuts and fresh fruits (straw- and blueberries) with the sour and sweet passionfruit sauce is very delicious!
We ended up pouring the sauce over the toast and sprinkle that with the crumble and voilà: there we had one serious contender for the most tasty french toast in Bangkok!
Also the coffee was very good, quite strong and bouncy. Which brings us to the conclusion that a visit to this Cafe should be on top of everyone’s list who likes coffee in a realaxed atmosphere, breakfast and of course…. french toast!
